Pantomime 9-16 January 1993 All Saints Church Hall
Babes in the Wood
Directed by Geoff Killick
Babes in the Wood, directed by Geoff Killick and staged from 9 to 16 January 1993 with financial help from Croydon Libraries, Museum & Arts. The programme’s own story tells how the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham hires two unlikely robbers, one Good (?) and one Bad (!), to carry off his wards Willie and Tillie at Nottingham Goose Fair; the Babes get lost in Sherwood Forest under Fairy Tinkerbelle’s watchful eye until Robin and Marian find them, the Sheriff is sentenced to marry Dame Trot, and King Richard restores Robin’s lands and titles. It was Clare Garnett’s Sanderstead debut as Principal Boy, and the first programme here to carry cast biographies.
